Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 « Brown »

The prestigious French brand reveals some details about the release of its highly anticipated Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection (article available HERE). Of the 21 colorways that make up this exclusive capsule, the « Brown » version will have a special launch.

The Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection is scheduled to be available to the general public in April in the French fashion brand’s stores. A few colorways have already surfaced exclusively after being offered to some of the late designer Virgil Abloh’s relatives. We were able to have a more detailed vision of these famous AF1.

The « Brown » Made in Italy version will make its first public launch before the others, thanks to an auction organized by the multinational Sotheby’s. A total of 200 pairs will be made available, in sizes ranging from US 5 to US 18. Each pair will come in an exclusive LV pilot case monogrammed in orange leather and featuring a white Swoosh hangtag.

As for the aesthetics, this sneaker is dressed entirely in premium leather. It combines the French house’s iconic beige and light brown checkerboard prints with the legendary golden monogram flowers resting on a dark brown base. The pair features Virgil Abloh’s signature details, such as “LACET” on the laces, “AIR” on the white midsole and gold writing on the side panels. We also find co-branding on the tongue tag and Louis Vuitton branding on the heel tab. To finalize the look, the whole is based on a dark brown outsole.

The 200 Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 « Brown » will be auctioned via sothebys.com from January 26 to February 8, 2022. The starting price is $2000. All proceeds from the sales will go to the Virgil Abloh « POST MODERN » scholarship fund, which is dedicated to helping black students.

« I was a student on a campus that wasn’t as diverse as the rest of the world. And it’s important to set up this foundation (« POST MODERN ») specifically for black students who may feel like they don’t see many people they can relate to in the fashion industry. »
