Louis de Guzman x New Balance 574 LDG pour la collection Foot Locker Collaboraid

American sports retail giant FOOT LOCKER is enriching its Collaboraid collection with a NB 574 reinvented by the talented visual artist Louis De Guzman. The Chicago-based Filipino-American designer is known for his eccentric interpretations of pop culture icons such as Bart Simpson and Sponge Bob. In line with his personal color palette, Louis De Guzman presents a NB 574 with a bold and luminous design.

This Collaboraid solidarity collection, developed by Foot Locker and launched in September 2020, aims to highlight artists and raise money to donate to charities. This Louis De Guzman x NB 574 is the successor to the Converse Chuck Taylor re-imagined by New York graphic designer Anderson Bluu (article available HERE).

The shoe is adorned with a palette of colors ranging from red to black through grey, baby blue, fuchsia and purple. It is composed of a grey mesh toe box with a baby blue suede mudguard and a purple suede insert covering the side panels and the laceguard. We find baby blue leather under the ankle area in grey suede. A touch of purple suede on the toe box and the fuchsia grained leather heel complete the look. The emblematic N logo appears inversely on both sides of the shoe and is dressed in luminous red smooth leather, while the tone-on-tone engraved branding on the black tongue label is almost invisible. The black leather inner lining, black tongue and black suede heel add cachet to the pair. The whole is based on an Encap midsole with ABZORB cushioning in off-white color and a matching molded plastic heel clip. The tone-on-tone rubber outsole completes the design.

The Louis de Guzman x New Balance 574 LDG for the Foot Locker Collaboraid collection will be released exclusively on Footlocker.com on October 21, 2020. This pair is limited to 100 pieces, be ready !
