Louis De Guzman continues to bring his artistic touch to cult sneakers. After teaming up with New Balance last year, the Chicago-based Filipino-American artist teams up with legendary Japanese brand BAPE and reimagines the ROADSTA.
The 2000s silhouette appears in a combination of leather and suede in shades of grey. It consists of a perforated toe box and quarter panels in leather, with eyelet area, toe overlay and heel reinforcement in suede. The iconic BAPE shooting star logo on the sides of the foot is adorned with Louis De Guzman’s signature geometric pattern, paying homage to his work. This signature detail also adorns the back of the heel and covers the colorful co-branded insole. An additional touch of color is provided by a royal blue suede heel tab and a sky blue mesh inner lining. To complete the design, the eyelet area features piping and the tongue features tonal BAPE embroidery. The whole is based on a white and grey midsole with a purple unit under the heel.
The pair will be delivered in a special shoe bag and a co-branded box incorporating Louis De Guzman’s multicolored geometric patterns with BAPE’s grey camo print.
The special ROADSTA will be released with an apparel collection including a rain jacket, a crewneck and a towel with the BAPE Camo print x Guzman geometric shapes in all over. This special pattern also appears in the branding details of the various short sleeve t-shirts and hoodie.
Louis De Guzman also let his creativity run wild on the Baby Milo figurine. This artwork will be released in a very limited edition of 300 pieces.
The Louis De Guzman x BAPE ROADSTA and other collaborative collectibles will be released on November 19, 2022 at BAPE shops and selected retailers, as well as online at bape.com and louisdeguzman.com. Don’t sleep !
