Lacoste collection Printemps/Été 2021 « Croc-Couture »

After presenting a Storm 96 Lo sneaker revisited for its Autumn/Winter 2020 collection (article available HERE), the famous French high-end casual wear brand LACOSTE unveils its Spring/Summer 2021 textile collection named « Croc-Couture ». This line of clothes has been designed using vintage materials with modern techniques to bring a new energy to the iconic crocodile brand.

For some time now, the brand co-founded by tennis player René Lacoste, seems to desecrate its emblematic croc logo. It was recently discovered in XXL size for the collaboration with Chinatown market (article available on this site). Today the artistic director Louise Trotter continues in this process of shaking up the codes and invites the Lemarié House, specialized in the art of sewing and embroidery, to participate in this new project. The range of sportswear thus benefits from the elegant touches brought by Lemarié’s know-how. We find ample pieces with a vintage look, embellished with the famous crocodile, sometimes oversized, geometric, elaborated in patchwork, from jacquard labels or in seemingly unfinished embroidery. Inspirations also come from the world of sports, such as tennis of course, golf, boxing, cycling or water sports. The colors chosen affirm the retro design : cream, signature dark green, navy and royal blue, yellow, aged red, burgundy and orange. In addition to classic reworked items such as jogging pants, polo shirts or sweaters, we discover new pieces such as cut anoraks, skirts with shortened pleats or vests with asymmetrical collars and hems.

The Lacoste Spring/Summer 2021 « Croc-Couture » collection will be limited to 200 pieces worldwide and will be released in December 2020 exclusively on the Lacoste.fr website. Be ready !
