KITH x MAD Paris Contrax G2

To accompany the release of the KITH x New Balance 990 anniversary collection (article available HERE), Ronnie Fieg unveils another eye-catching collaboration. The New York designer has teamed up with French independent luxury watch customizer, MAD Paris to reinvent the Contax G2 film camera.

This rangefinder camera was produced from 1996 to 2005. At the time, it was the most powerful and advanced camera in its class.

Ronnie Fieg asked MAD Paris to create 4 special versions of this camera. Each of them corresponds to one of the 4 NB 990 « Anniversary » specials.

The 1st camera appears in silver, purple and pink as the NB 990v4 « United Arrows & Son », the 2nd one is dressed in navy blue and grey reminding the 990v3 « Daytona », the 3rd one is presented in grey with orange and turquoise blue to match the NB 990v2 « Cyclades », and the 4th one in grey and old pink is matched with the NB 990v1 « Dusty Rose ».

Made in Japan, these cameras feature a 35mm autofocus, 1/6000 per second shutter speed and a Carl Zeiss Planar 45mm f2 lens and come in a custom Globetrotter case that includes the lens, a roll of JCH Streetpan 400 35mm film and a leather strap.

The 4 KITH x MAD Paris Contrax G2 cameras will be released next week, in stores and online at kith.com. In the Instagram post, Ronnie Fieg clarified that the cameras are limited to 2 units per colorway.
