A few days ago, Ronnie Fieg published photos on Instagram featuring the famous Looney Tunes character « Bugs Bunny ». We were keeping a close eye on his account because we knew that the sequel was going to be interesting. Indeed, the famous American streetwear brand KITH joined forces with the creators of the Looney Tunes animated series and the Converse brand to offer us a collaboration based on the legendary Chuck 70 Hi silhouette.
This shoe consists of a completely black canvas upper decorated with colourful illustrations at the ankles. Iconic Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, Marvin the Martian, Road Runner and the Wile E. Coyote, and Titi and Sylvester cover the back outer side of the left sneaker. These impressions extend to the bottom of the all-white midsole. The emblematic Converse star logo is modified on the ankle of the right shoe to reveal a red circular print referring to the “That’s all Folks!” design which closes each episode of the anime series. This new logo combines the Looney Tunes characters with the KITH branding in yellow cartoon typeface. The KITH branding also appears on the front sides of the midsole, one under a yellow background and the other under a red background. We find the usual rectangular black Converse logo applied on the back of the sole. To finalize the design, the tongue, the laces and eyelets are black and a print «It’s All Folks » (a nod to the Looney Tunes slogan) appears under the translucent outsole.
This sneaker is part of the upcoming Looney Tunes x KITH collection. This capsule will include textile items such as t-shirts, fleece sweaters, jackets, hats and accessories.
The KITH x Looney Tunes x Converse Chuck 70 Hi will be available on the KITH website and at selected retailers. No official date has been announced yet, but according to the Kith brand representatives it should be released very soon.
It would also be possible that a white version will be available… Stay tuned.
