KITH and ASICS share a long and beautiful history of collaborations. Last year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the creation of his shop, Ronnie Fieg had worked with the Japanese manufacturer to create an exclusive anniversary collection including a GEL-LYTE 3 « Salmon toe ». The founder of the iconic New York streetwear brand has just teased a new collab to come.
It’s on personal Instagram account (@ronniefieg) that Ronnie Fieg has illustrated himself with the new collaborative asics pairs. He posted 3 photos of him wearing an outfit that he commented : « My Favorite pieces from our next 3 collections ».
This upcoming retro inspired offering is reminiscent of the asics PTG for basketball and the Japan S sportstyle. Ronnie Fieg delved into the Japanese brand’s archives to bring out the little known EX89.
Through this collaboration, the famous designer pays tribute to his hometown. The sneaker is dressed in the iconic colors of the New York Knicks.
The 1st version, posted on the feet of the founder of KITH, consists of a base mixing leather and suede in white and cream colors. Contrasting blue and red accents at the bottom eyelets, inner lining, heel clip and sole details, confirm the inspiration.
The other 2 variations feature an off-white or bright orange suede upper with matching overlays. The design is enhanced by white Tigers Stripes and a white sole for the same color pair and yellowed for the orange colorway.
This trio benefits from a blue or red KITH branding on the white tongue that elegantly confirms the collab.
