KICKS LAB X ASICS GEL LYTE V KL KOGANE

The Japanese from Kicks Lab have teamed up once again with Asics to offer us their fifth collaboration. After the “PHYS ED” (2015), the “HIKESHI” (2016), the “KLSHINOBI” (2018) and the “KLSHOGUN” (2019), it’s the “KL KOGANE” that is presented to us on the Gel Lyte 5’s silhouette.

The collaboration has been designed as a tribute to the golden color. A traditional color very popular in Japan. Gold is considered like a very precious metal as part of basic food. Japanese exchange New year’s greetings by drinking saké embellished with gold foil and some Japanese cooks highlight their best sushi with fine gold.

The country, which also had a high gold production, had been called by Europeans and in particular by Marco Polo “Golden Country Zipangu”.

In brown color, this Gel Lyte 5 represents the soil in which the “Golden rice plant” is rooted, in this case the rice symbolizing the abundant gold.

The pair consists of a suede and mesh upper. We find the famous Asics strips in gold color on each side of the shoe. The whole is based on a brown sole.

The Asics Gel Lyte 5 X Kicks Lab will be available at Kicks Lab store on November 9.
