For this fall 2022, the German giant ADIDAS unveils a new part of its collaboration with the Japanese motorcycle brand KAWASAKI. After offering us a duo of ZX 8000 and ZX 5K BOOST last year, the partners have reworked the silhouette of the ZX 22.
This new collab is a nod to the origins of the adidas ZX line : the very first ZX design in 1984 was inspired by Kawasaki.
The ZX 22 collaborative presented today features a look influenced by the concept of a Kawasaki motorcycle, which is a symbol of progress and innovation. Reminiscent of these famous vehicles, the shoe consists of a Metallic Silver upper, with Core Black elements such as the mudguard and flashy lime accents including the white midsole, heel and tongue branding. To ensure the reference to these motorcycle of the Japanese brand, the grey side 3-Stripes and windows on the heel counter are covered with a reflective material. As for other details, « Ninja » appears in white on the black mudguard, the Kawasaki brand is embossed on the silver tongue above the lime-colored ZX 22 and the upper eyelets are made of white TPU. The whole is based on a thick and comfortable white/lime/black BOOST technology midsole, paired with a two-tone black/lime outsole.
In keeping with its environmental consciousness, ADIDAS used recycled materials from production scraps, such as cuttings and household waste, to make this special ZX 22. Specifically, 25% of the upper’s components contain at least 50% recycled materials.
The Kawasaki x adidas ZX 22 is available from November 24, 2022 at selected retailers like COURIR and online at adidas.com for $150.
