Intensely celebrated by Chinese families from January 25th to February 8th, this ancestral tradition follows the traditional zodiacal signs. In 2020, it will therefore be the year of the Rat.
In accordance with the Chinese tradition, the Kangaroos Coil R1 features symbols of luck. We find references to the Chinese currency “The Renminbi”, symbol of hope for many benefits during the year. Also a lucky bow is hung on the laces and the emblem of the rat is applied to the tongue, which is an additional good-luck charm. The sneaker is red and gold because in China, in line to mythological imagination, these colours help to hunt a man-eater monster who comes every year.
The pair consists of a calf suede upper and recycled PET materials. The whole is based on a Dynacoil sole.
The Kangaroos CNY “Year of the Rat”, limited to 306 pairs worldwide, will be available on January 17th for 250€. Sizes EU : 36-47.
