The Californian artist Joshua Vides, known for his customs and his ongoing artistic series « Reality-To-Idea », has once again joined forces with the Converse brand to present his third signature shoe. The designer was inspired by his previous collaboration based on the Chuck 70 to design this new iteration.
This new Joshua Vides x Conserve Chuck 70 collection is limited to 30 pairs. Proceeds from sales will be donated to the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago) to support the artistic community.
These shoes are made from a 1.2 x 12 meter canvas hand-painted by the artist. The design corresponds to Joshua Vides’ black and white signature style with different types of brushstrokes and paint splash patterns. The upper of each shoe therefore adopts a unique aesthetic, complemented by repositionable Converse heel logos. On the tongue label, we find a descriptive text, indicating the process of making the sneaker. White laces, a white midsole with a black line around the foot and a black outsole complete the look.
The 30 exclusive Joshua Vides x Converse Chuck 70 pairs will be available for auction from November 6 to 13, 2020. The shoes will be delivered in personalized, hand-painted boxes and a numbered certificate of authenticity will be enclosed inside.
