Talented Chicago designer JOE FRESHGOODS has officially unveiled his new collab with iconic brand NEW BALANCE. After introducing the NB 9060 last year and reworking the iconic NB 993 in signature colorways, the American designer presents his 5th collaboration project with the Boston-based sports brand : a collection named “Beneath The Surface”.
This capsule includes 3 pieces, a duo of NB 610 and a reinvented Rainier Boot. It will be part of JFG’s Spring 2023 collection.
The NB 610 is a classic model from the Boston-based brand, taken from trail running to incorporate lifestyle. Originally released in 2012, this silhouette made a welcome return in 2021.
The Rainier Boota was pulled from the New Balance archives by Teddy Santis last year. Originally intended for hiking, this model has already made its way into the trendy pairs.
These redesigned shoes feature Joe Freshgoods’ first ever Camo print.
The NB 610 collaborative comes in Green/Orange with black accents or Black/Beige with orange accents. The Rainier Boot comes in JFG Camo/Olive Green.
Crafted from premium materials to accentuate comfort and durability, they also come with an eye-catching streetwear look that is both chic and bold.
The NB 610s feature multiple embroidery details on the overlays, topstitching on the forefoot and contrasting accents that prove the quality of the designer’s work. To affirm the collab, the ‘JFG’ branding stands out on the triangular shaped tongue tag and the Chicago designer’s orange logo adorns the black insole. A thick, sculpted ABZORB technology sole with a slightly worn-in look polishes the look.
The Rainier Boot includes Gore-Tex fabric to keep feet warm and dry. It features metallic gold D-ring eyelets that add character to the pair and includes JFG branding on the bottom of the woven tongue tag featuring a mountain landscape motif. The whole is based on a white midsole and black outsole.
All 3 pairs feature sturdy, speckled round rope laces.
The designer explained on his Instagram account :“Creating my own camo print has been a dream for me, for awhile now. When it comes to the pack I wanted to explore the various ways in which we could use the JFG print to bring the details out – from the tonal base of the shoe to the mesh, every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to bring the makeup of the shoe alive but. Easily my most detailed shoe with NB to date.”
