At the beginning of September 2022, the famous Chicago designer JOE FRESHGOODS teased a new collab to come with the brand NEW BALANCE (article available HERE). The images released didn’t make it clear what the reinvented silhouette would look like. Today, the strong entrepreneur brought more details through a new Instagram post : the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance « Performance Art : Made To Wear Well » collection includes 3 exclusive variations of the NB 993.
This Made in USA trio is the 4th collaboration installment between the Chicago-based designer and the Boston-based sportswear brand. It appears as a continuation of the duo of 9060 released last May. Indeed, the new collaborative sneakers use the pastel tones chosen by Joe Freshgoods to revisit the NB 9060.
Each pair consists of a light grey premium mesh upper, enhanced by suede and microperforated leather overlays in contrasting colors : in shades of pink, green or blue, depending on the version. To complete the look, the iconic side logo, laces and midsole are presented in a light shade of pinkish cream that adds a nice vintage touch. A color-coordinated outsole with overlays confirms the elegant look of these pairs.
The shoes will come with a special NB hangtag explaining the philosophy behind the design.
