About a year ago, the Boston-based brand New Balance unveiled a new futuristic silhouette called Vision Racer (article available HERE). This shoe was in fact the result of a collaboration with the American artist Jaden Smith. After having offered us some colorways during the year, the two partners present the « Psychedelic Pack ».
This pack consists of 2 bold iterations inspired by the 70’s. One has a white base and the other cream. Both are adorned with revisited branding details in a « psychedelic » style and bright colors arranged differently depending on the pair.
The white version has a white side N logo enhanced with sky blue outlines and a red dotted line around the bottom of the foot. The thick midsole appears in a gradient of icy blue, green and pink colors.
The cream iteration retains a tonal midsole. The color gradient is placed at the mudguard, combining orange, purple, green and yellow. As with the white version, the heel and tongue branding has been reimagined in hippie style and below the semi-translucent outsole is the NB logo and the multi-colored Vision Racer lettering surrounded by red flowers.
The Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer « Psychedelic Pack » is set to release on July 15, 2021, at select retailers and on newbalance.com, priced at 150$ per iteration.
