Irak x Adidas ZX 8000

The IRAK graffiti team offered us two very successful adidas RMX EQP Runner pairs in late 2007, early 2008. The New York street artists collective, led by Kunle « EARSNOT » Martins and Jesse « NEMEL » Geller, is once again teaming up with the German giant to participate in the A-ZX series. IRAK represents the letter I and this time revisits the famous ZX 8000 racing shoe released in 1988.

The sneaker is available in two colorways. The color block pays homage to the collaborative pairs from 2007 and 2008, which had been very successful, especially thanks to their bold look.

It features an upper combining leather and suede, with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane for maximum comfort. One pair features a black base with silver accents, such as the laceguard and the iconic adidas stripes. The overlays are red on the toes and black on the heel. A purple tongue and volt laces add cachet to the pair. The other iteration consists of a metallic silver upper with black overlays on the front of the foot, and neon orange accents on the heel, inner lining, tongue and laces. Volt accents on the toe and the 3 adidas stripes add contrast to the pair.

On both colorways, the adidas branding appears subtly embroidered in tone-on-tone on the tongue label, and the GORE-TEX brand is engraved in black under the signature side stripes. To top it all off, we find the famous « IRAK » inscription here attached to the year « 2020 » on the front side of the shoe. The whole is based on the high-performance sole with Torsion Cushioning and a rubber outsole.

The two IRAK x adidas ZX 8000 of the A-ZX Series will be released globally on September 4, 2020, at selected retailers such as SNS or END. via a raffle and on adidas.com where you can already schedule a recall so you won’t miss this release. The price is set at 180€.
