Legendary 90’s New York graffiti crew, IRAK, unveils a new collaboration with German giant ADIDAS. After a bold ZX 8000 released in September 2020, the American creatives bring their special touch to the Supernova Cushion 7 silhouette.
The IRAK collective continues to assert its colorful identity, sometimes playing with prints and textures, through its collaborations with ADIDAS.
This exclusive Supernova Cushion 7 comes in a « Core Black/Cloud White/Vivid Green » color palette.
In an effort to be eco-friendly and reduce environmental impact, the sneaker is made in part with recycled content generated from production waste, such as cuttings and post-consumer household waste. Specifically, 25% of the components used to make the upper are designed with a minimum of 50% recycled content.
This collaborative version consists of an upper combining white mesh and black padded textile overlays. This two-tone white/black effect continues at the 3 side stripes and with the black tongue/white laces. A nice touch of boldness is provided by a bright orange inner lining and green accents on the back of the midsole and the model name ‘Supernova’ under the ankle. The IRAK branding is emblazoned in yellow on the side mudguard and the tongue is adorned with a white/black, rectangular, horizontal tongue tag featuring the adidas Mountain logo and the name ‘Supernova’. The pair benefits from a black insole covered in multiple orange IRAK brandings. To finalize the look, the whole is based on a two-tone white/black midsole that follows the design of the upper and a gum outsole.
The IRAK x adidas Originals Supernova Cushion 7 is out January 28, 2023 in the US on iraknyc.com, at select retailers like Sneaker Politics, as well as on the sportswear brand’s website, adidas.com. The price is set at $160 (€147) and sizes range from US 4 to US 14.
