The Taiwanese sneaker boutique Invincible and the Japanese label N.Hoolywood joined forces to design a new collaboration with the American brand New Balance. This project is based on a silhouette that is gaining notoriety at the moment, the 2002R.
This former model of the Boston-based brand reappeared in an improved shape very recently and has been honored by Salehe Bembury, Versace’s vice president of footwear, with his pair « Peace Be the Journey » (article available HERE).
The shoe presented today appears in New Balance’s signature grey color block. It’s adorned with details from previous collaborations of these partners. The military-inspired toe area and ripstop inserts are reminiscent of the N.Hoolywood x NB 996 released in 2019. Also, the hairy suede on the side panels and heel is a reference to the Invincible x NB 574 from 2018. To complete the design, the shoe also features mesh and leather overlays. In terms of branding details, Invincible and N.Hoolywood appear as a full-length print on the white laces. The New Balance brand and the model name stand out in black on the side toe area. We also find the emblematic grey N logo with white contours on the side of the shoe. The light grey leather tongue on the left shoe (and only the left shoe) is decorated with the inscription « 2002R new balance ». To finalize the look and affirm the triple collaboration, the 3 brands decorate the white insole. The whole is based on a comfortable white and grey midsole took up from the innovative NB 860V2 silhouette : Abzorb technology with N-ergy cushioning, combined with a non-slip black rubber outsole.
The Invincible X N.Hoolywood x New Balance 2002R will be released on October 31, 2020 in Invincible stores and via a draw on the invinciblesp.com website, which will open for registration on October 27, 2020. The price is set at 175€.
