Nigo, the founder of the Japanese fashion brand HUMAN MADE, has once again teamed up with the German giant ADIDAS to offer us a collaboration based on an 80’s silhouette : the Adidas Rivalry Low.
Three colorways are presented to us : « Night Marine/Cloud White/Bold Aqua », « Green/Cloud White », « Sand/Cloud White ».
With this collection, the two partners bring the design of the 80s up to date, but they also make reference to the former brand of Nigo A Bathing Ape (BAPE) and pay tribute to the famous Bapesta.
These pairs consist of a leather upper combining several colours. There is the signature slogan « Gears For Futuristic Teenagers » printed on the 3 Adidas stripes and the Human Made signature red heart logo on the other side of the shoe. To assert the design, the laces are white and the soles appear two-tone : white with a touch of colour seen of the upper.
The pair « Night Marine/Cloud White/Bold Aqua » is dressed in yellow on the toe box, the 3 adidas stripes, the heel tab with white Adidas branding and the tongue label. Bold Aqua is used to define the laceguard, collar and contours of the emblematic stripes. Navy blue accents appear on the tab, inner lining and separate the Adidas stripes. For added contrast, the toe area, mudguard and heel are bright red. The whole is based on a white and navy blue sole with white stitching.
The iteration « Green/Cloud White » has a colour palette ranging from green to brown, yellow and orange. The green colour is used to cover the toe area, mudgard and heel. The toe box, heel tab and the 3 lateral Adidas stripes appear in yellow, while the laceguard and collar are orange. To complete this Camo-style design, the tongue, inner lining and the separations between the 3 signature stripes are in brown. The whole is based on a white and brown sole with white stitching.
The shoe « Sand/Cloud White » is made of the softest colours. The toe box, the 3 Adidas stripes, the tongue label and the heel tab appear in clay beige. The tongue, the inner lining and the separations between the emblematic stripes appear in a sand colour. The mudguard, toe and heel area are dark brown. For a soft contrast, the laceguard, collar and side stripes are candy pink. The whole is based on a white and sandy sole with white stitching.
The three colorways HUMAN MADE x ADIDAS Rivalry Low are already available in some foreign countries. They should soon be available in the US and Europe at selected retailers and on adidas.com for 150€ each pair. More info coming soon, stay tuned…
