German giant adidas is reviving its famous « A-ZX series » concept from 2008. This collection aims to present 26 pairs by the end of 2021, designed in collaboration with various international brands or inspired by archives, to celebrate the heritage and future of the ZX’000 series. Each letter of the alphabet is associated with a partner label or dedicated to an important adidas icon. The collaborative shoes will be released in a random order and not in alphabetical order, thus promoting suspense ! After unveiling the R shoes (for Retro OG ZX 1000C), B (for the BAPE & Undefeated ZX 8000), J (for the Juventus ZX 6000) and N (for National Parks ZX 500), it’s the turn of the letter H and Chinese innovative tea company HEY TEA to present its project based on the adidas ZX 7000 silhouette.
Like the fruity and original drinks offered by the HEY TEA franchise, the shoe is dressed in soft and gourmet colors. We find a textile upper in a color gradient ranging from red currant and plum purple on the front of the foot to a gourmet white on the collar and heel. The toe box comes in strawberry milk colour with semi-translucent overlays with milky white graphics. The laceguard and signature side stripes are made of white leather. The heel counter combines translucent material and white leather, and a plum-coloured reminder is applied to the inner lining. To complete the design, discreet silver accents adorn the edging of the adidas 3 stripes and the heel. Also the off-white heel tab is embellished with a cheese cube print, a nod to the original and signature HEY TEA tea, and the translucent tongue label features the Chinese brand logo. Strawberry milk-coloured laces and adidas red currant dubrae harmonize the look. The whole is based on a comfortable midsole in the same colors as the upper : red currant on the front of the foot, strawberry milk in the middle and milky white on the heel. To finalize the design, white touches, referring to dripping milk, appear on the top of this midsole. A black rubber outsole completes the look.
