The leading Scottish shop HANON is establishing a strong partnership with the Irish Padmore & Barnes by once again working together, on a limited edition pack based on the Higgins leisure silhouette. After having proposed an iteration 2.0 in April (article available HERE), the two partners unveil today a shoe modernized while getting closer to the initial style of 1978.
The Higgins is inspired by boat shoes. Although less known than the famous Wallabee or the Willow, it also presents a moccasin type construction. This silhouette is adorned with a refined and discreet profile. It’s immediately recognizable by its hand-made upper.
The revisited Higgins is available in two colorways : dark brown « Bitter Chocolate » and light brown grey « Mushroom Grey ». It’s handmade in Portugal with high-end Italian leathers. Each version is embellished with visible stitching on the toe box and heel. They appear in opposite colors : dark brown for the light brown grey leather pair and light brown grey for the dark brown leather shoe. In order to provide maximum comfort, the inner lining is made of soft calf leather. The metal eyelets present on the 1978 model have been removed and the traditional crepe sole has been replaced by a lightweight and durable TPR unit in dark brown. The co-brandings are gold plated on the insole and the Hanon flame logo is subtly engraved on the side heel. Both iterations come with two sets of laces, one in the color of the vamp, the other in the contrasting color of the stitching, and are adorned with a numbered hangtag.
The HANON x Padmore & Barnes Higgins pack, composed of the colors « Bitter Chocolate » and « Mushroom Grey », will be released on December 18, 2020 via a raffle whose registrations are now open here https://launches.hanon-shop.com/collections/launch. Each colorway is limited to 48 copies, in sizes ranging from UK 6 to UK 12 (without half sizes) and for a fixed price of 140€.
