Hajime Sorayama x Mizuno Wave Prophecy

The legendary Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, known around the world for his « sexy robots », is once again teaming up with the MIZUNO brand. After the success of the first Wave Prophecy collaborative released last February (article available HERE), the talented designer offers a new version of this iconic silhouette.

Hajime Sorayama‘s artistic style can be defined as Hyperrealism. He brings out the beauty of what surrounds us, both the human body and machines. This particular sense of art has made him adored in the fashion world. He creates works that blend fine art, illustration and industrial design. After having recently worked with the luxury house DIOR and Uniqlo, he is back with his compatriots at MIZUNO.

For this second collaboration based on the Wave Prophecy 10th generation silhouette, Hajime Sorayama continues to develop his shiny and curved metallic aesthetic.

This new « Dark Side » version comes in a sleek glossy black combination, replacing the metallic silver color previously seen on the 1st collaborative pair. It sports a sleek, futuristic look that perfectly matches the design of the 10th generation silhouette. The permeable resin base is complemented by a glossy Run Bird logo on the side panels and a metallic silver heel reinforcement, which appears as a nod to Hajime Sorayama’s cult works. A woven collar and matching flat laces on the vamp provide modern style. This Wave Prophecy features Mizuno’s INFINITY WAVE outsole, which brings together Mizuno’s structural technologies and evolves them to increase lightness, flexibility and thus comfort and performance. The design of the large transparent air pockets accentuates the futuristic look of the silhouette.

The pair is packaged in a black co-branded bag with a mechanical closure and a special silver box.

The Hajime Sorayama x Mizuno Wave Prophecy is available since November 5, 2021 for 300€, at selected retailers such as HANON, Solebox, Soulery, Lothaire (lothaire.fr), VooStore (vooberlin.com).
