For the third time in their history, the Berlin-based brand GmbH and the Japanese brand Asics have teamed up to offer us a collaboration on the silhouette of Gel-Nandi.
In continuity of their work combining storytelling, craftsmanship and technology, the GmbH teams wanted to work on a trail silhouette dating from the 2000s. Its numerous inserts and juxtapositions of materials attracted the Germans, who were able to bring their own world to it by offering us two monochrome colorways, one white and the other turquoise.
Always in search of fushion of artificial technologies, the natural world and the human body, inspired by water, robotics, the near future and science fiction. The white colour is designed to appear as a spine and bones. The turquoise is based on childhood memories of the Aegean Sea. Bones and water, solid and liquid, and two essential elements of the human body.
The pair consists of a monochrome leather and mesh upper. We find the GmbH branding on the insole and the heel. The whole is based on a sole with Gel 360 technology.
The pack GmgH x ASICS GEL-NANDI™ 360 will be released on Wednesday, June 27, 2020.
