Frank Ocean launches his brand named HOMER

There’s news from the American singer, songwriter and producer Frank Ocean. No, still not the release of his latest album, but he’s involved in a new adventure : the launch of his fashion brand named HOMER.

In a press release, it was informed that « Homer is an independent luxury company founded by Frank Ocean ». The Grammy-winning musician’s brand has in fact been worked on for 3 years in the greatest secrecy. According to Frank Ocean, it’s inspired by « childhood obsessions » and « heritage as fantasy ». The name Homer was chosen because it « represents carving history into stone ».

The first collection consists of fine jewelry and silk scarves in a variety of bright colorways with an X pattern. It includes handcrafted jewelry in 18-karat gold, recycled sterling silver, hand-painted enamel and diamonds from Homer’s state-of-the-art American laboratory. We find bracelets, chains, charms and earrings. Homer products are designed in New York and handcrafted in Italy. Scarves and pendants will start at 1,000$, some will cost much more and the « Sphere Legs High Jewelry Necklace » will be priced at 1.89 million$.

This inaugural collection is presented in a catalog created and photographed by Frank Ocean. Also featured are campaign images by Tyrone Lebon, a regular collaborator of the multidisciplinary artist.

The first collection from HOMER, Frank Ocean’s brand, will be released only at the brand’s jewelry store, which will open on August 9, 2021 in New York’s Manhattan neighborhood at 70-74 Bowery. Customers must visit homer.com to make an appointment to gain access to the store.

It could be that part of this collection was designed in collaboration with the prestigious Italian brand PRADA, to be confirmed… Stay tuned !
