After presenting its latest project with PUMA earlier this week, the famous shop ATMOS unveils a new eye-catching collaboration with #FR2 and Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO. The 3 Japanese partners offer us a revisited sneaker and a special sweatshirt.
ATMOS, the iconic Harajuku store and #FR2, the brand of the designer-photographer ‘Rabbit’, have brought their touch to one of the silhouettes created by Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO, the Wayne Low Leather and to the Crew Sweat of the Japanese brand.
Born in 1972 in Nagasaki Prefecture, Mihara Yasuhiro is the son of a painter. He says he was influenced by painting, culture, design, art in general and cubism and Dada in particular. In 1994, while still a student, he started making shoes on his own. After graduating in 1997, he launched his own brand Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO. The brand’s shoes are made from original ideas and thorough design work. The inventiveness of the designer seduces, which allows him to launch a clothing line a few years later. Mihara Yasuhiro has always wanted his pieces to tell a story, subtly, through a system of deconstruction/reconstruction, even pushing his concept to the point of wishing that those who buy his creations continue to customize them themselves.
The Wayne Low Leather triple collaborative sports an updated look to push the boundaries of a « cool sneaker ». It appears two-tone, white/black, with the color scheme reversed on each foot for a mismatched aesthetic. The shoe consists of an upper combining high-end materials : smooth leather and patent leather, as well as suede. As for the branding details, the brand’s ‘Smoking Kills’ slogan is emblazoned on the toe box, the ‘Rabbit’ logo adorns the side heel, #FR2 is embroidered on the heel tab and the 3 partner logos stand out on the insole. The off-white midsole with its imperfect finish has a vintage-style leather strap design that adds character to the pair. The whole is based on a harmonious black outsole.
This special sneaker will be released with a redesigned Crew Sweat. This crewneck is offered in 2 colorways, black or white, to follow the design of the pair. It’s decorated with the slogan ‘Smoking Kills’ on the chest and has 2 special labels sewn on the back, bottom right. One displays the collaborative branding ‘Maison MIHARA RABBITS’ and the other humorously explains why smoking is advisable !
The #FR2 x atmos x Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO WAYNE LOW LEATHER and Crew Sweat will be released on December 28, 2022 at ATMOS stores and online on December 31 via a raffle set up on the shop atmos-tokyo.com. Prices are set at $364 (¥48400) for the Wayne Low Leather and $116 (¥15400) for the crewneck.
