During this year 2022, FOOTPATROL celebrated its 20 years of existence through exclusive products and eye-catching collabs (several articles available on this site). In addition to working actually with the artist STASH for his London exhibition, the sneaker and streetwear shop continues the festivities with a new collab with NEW ERA.
The legendary British store has teamed up with the iconic American cap brand to design a special « 20th anniversary » 9FIFTY snapback.
The collaborative cap pays homage to the FOOTPATROL brand identity it has forged over the years. In terms of color choice and design, this groundbreaking 9FIFTY snapback honors the store’s cultural landscape and the heritage of classic baseball cap monograms.
Made of cotton, it sports a two-tone black/grey look. Specifically, the base is black and the visor is dressed in grey. To ensure homage, this cap is adorned with special white embroidered details, such as the ‘FP’ monogram on the front panel designed by Kingsley Hayward for FOOTPATROL, the number ’20’ seemingly tagged on the right side and a street light graphic on the back that refers to the one actually outside the FOOTPATROL store in London. It’s also an ode to all the streetlights in and around Soho. The cap also features a rat as a mascot character, in reference to the central dwellings of London city. This graphic was created by Brooklyn-based designer/illustrator Dirty Dermot. Other details include the words « Twenty Years Deep » on the back, above the adjustable leather strap adorned with the Footpatrol ‘Gasmask’ logo laser-etched onto the metallic finish. To finalize the tribute, the deluxe satin lining inside the cap features a montage of Footpatrol’s London team images taken last year.
The Footpatrol x New Era Snapback 9FIFTY « 20th anniversary » will be released on December 3, 2022 for $55 (£45) in stores and online at footpatrol.com.
