FACETASM collection FW22 « MUI »

Japanese designer Hiromichi Ochiai’s brand FACETASM presented its Fall Winter 2022 collection « Mui » at the current Paris Fashion Week. Correlating with the themes of past seasons, this new collection consists of oversized, deconstructed, layered pieces with geometric design.

« Mui » means « forest » in Okinawan dialect. The Japanese island of Okinawa is part of the archipelago of the same name. Known for its tropical climate, wide beaches and coral reefs, it’s also home to sites related to World War II. It’s in this rich and historic environment that FACETASM chose to shoot the video presentation of its « Mui » collection.

Instead of a traditional press kit, Hiromichi Ochiai presented a personal letter to his family, friends, professional team and FACETASM supporters. He thanks them and expresses his gratitude. The designer also expresses through his new clothing pieces the unknown, the uncertainty, and the idea of finding oneself and discovering deep emotions.

The « Mui » collection consists of unconventional unisex silhouettes. These include oversized quilted aviator jackets, deconstructed trench coats assembled with buttons over quilted vests, denim or tracksuit jackets, patterned sweatshirts, zip-up sweaters, paired with long plaid skirts, flared pants with geometric finishes, others super wide or velvet.

The collection also includes accessories such as buckets hats, scarves and various bags.

The FW22 FACETASM « MUI » collection will be released later this year in store and online at store.facetasm.jp. In the meantime, you can check out the collection via the lookbook and the video shot in Okinawa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3LXRO9rId0.
