For its final collaboration of 2021, New York-based shop EXTRA BUTTER has announced that it’s teaming up with its longtime partner, SAUCONY. The shop founded by Jason Faustino, Ankur and Nick Amin almost 15 years ago is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s famous novel « Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland » to reimagine the iconic Shadow 6000 silhouette.
The shoe sports a color palette paying tribute to the famous « White Rabbit » from the novel turned classic movie.
It features a pearl grey mesh upper with matching suede overlays and white leather overlays. This base is complemented by black colored inserts, such as the side logo, tongue branding featuring a white rabbit silhouette in place of the usual running shoe, and the outsole. To complete the look, subtle red and blue accents are placed on different parts of the sneaker : the upper eyelets, the side S logo and the heels. These two colors appear as a nod to the « red or blue » pills that the character Neo from the Matrix movie must choose after being led to follow the famous « white rabbit » (him again !)… To affirm the reference, the pair benefits from a pill-shaped hangtag, two-tone red/blue and branded EXTRA BUTTER. A white and grey midsole harmoniously finalizes the look.
The pair will come in a special co-branded box, covered with a colorful psychedelic illustration.
The EXTRA BUTTER x Saucony Shadow 6000 will be released exclusively at EXTRA BUTTER (extrabutterny.com) on December 22, 2021, before a general release on January 7, 2022 in shop like Kosmos Store.
