.During 2022, the famous Italian brand DIADORA offered us some very attractive collabs, such as the one with 24 Kilates, Bisso x L’Original or with the legendary Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon. To start the year 2023, DIADORA stays on this trend by unveiling a collaboration with another New York City mainstay, the EXTRA BUTTER shop.
For this new opus, the 2 partners have reworked the silhouette of the S8000. Named « Giallo 2. », this special pair is the follow-up to the N9000 « Giallo » released in 2016.
Like its predecessor, it draws its inspiration from the ‘Giallo’, a 1970s Italian horror film genre.
Made in Italy, this sneaker consists of a high-end upper combining pig suede and leather. It opts for a color palette ranging from navy blue and pale pink to purple and fuchsia. A touch of contrasting colors, orange and yellow, appears on the tongue tag which is adorned with geometric patterns paying homage to the ‘Giallo’ cinema. According to Extra Butter « these symbols should be easily recognizable by hardcore horror fans as deep references to the film Giallo ». They are also found on the insole. A white inner lining and matching laces, along with neon pink TPU upper eyelets complete the look. The whole is based on a white midsole coupled with a two-tone blue/fuchsia outsole.
The Extra Butter x Diadora S8000 « Giallo 2.0 » will be released exclusively in the New York-based Extra Butter shop on January 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. ET, before being available online at extrabutterny.com a day later on January 28, 2023 at 9 a.m. ET . The price is set at $240 (220€).
