A few days ago, an event took place in Paris, and more precisely at the corner shop of Shinzo at the Samaritaine, to present the latest project of the Parisian retailer Shinzo realized in partnership with the Japanese sports brand Mizuno.
Having been invited, I suggest you to discover in pictures some moments of this afternoon full of Discovery and cutting.
It’s thus around 2:00 pm, that various personalities resulting from the world of the sneaker, fashion, art, media found themselves at the Samaritaine in a splendid fresh space, clear, purified, conceived by the famous Parisian store Shinzo. There, boxes of shoes were waiting for us, as well as various tools such as scissors, scalpels, lighters, files… allowing us to appropriate Shinzo’s latest project in order to make it a unique product.
For the record, the Mizuno x Shinzo consists of a detachable corduroy base mixing brown and cream colors that recall Parisian architecture and savoir vivre. Once the top layer is removed, a light pink canvas fabric is revealed with a print of Tokyo’s legendary cherry blossoms. The look is completed by the shop name « SHINZO » printed in hiragana (one of the 4 Japanese scripts) on the back of the white midsole. The side Run Bird is presented in bright blue velvet and also appears as a tonal embroidered logo at the heel when the first layer is removed. The whole is based on a tri-color blue, pink and white outsole, which harmoniously finalizes the design.
It’s thus in a friendly spirit, made of discussions, laughter and a minimum of seriousness that each of us could express his artistic side by cutting, destructuring, burning some elements of the pair. Personally, I really appreciated this moment of creation and sharing. Shinzo’s team knew how to put us at ease from the beginning, with a great welcome and a great explanation of the project.
