As the 2022 fall season approaches, ENGINEERED GARMENTS and Dr. Martens unveil their 5th collaboration offering. Following the lead of A-COLD-WALL last year, Japanese designer Daiki Suzuki’s label has put its spin on the legendary British 1461 silhouette.
Daiki Suzuki founded ENGINEERED GARMENTS in 1998 in New York. The brand offers Made in USA clothing inspired by American fashion, sportswear and army style. Like NEEDLES and SOUTH2 WEST8, ENGINEERED GARMENTS is a sub-brand of NEPHENTHES.
ENGINEERED GARMENTS offers us a duo of Dr. Martens 1461.
One appears in smooth black leather and the other in soft beige suede « Milkshake ».
Daiki Suzuki has slightly modified the shape of the lower silhouette to give it a more technical and sharp look. The pair benefits from an asymmetrical lacing system and metal D-eyelets that add a hiking-inspired touch to the design. To accentuate the style, the shoe comes with 2 sets of laces, one classic plain and the other two-tone black and yellow. The whole is based on the British brand’s traditional sole with the famous yellow stitching.
The ENGINEERED GARMENTS x Dr. Martens 1461 duo will be released on September 9, 2022 at a price of $230 per pair, at selected retailers and online at engineeredgarments.com et drmartens.com. Don’t sleep !
