END. x SUBU « Surplus Quilting »

The British shop END. continues its momentum of collaborations and unveils a first project with the Japanese brand SUBU. After recently working with CLARKS, Saucony or Polo Ralph Lauren, the famous retailer offers us a SUBU Winter Slipper revisited « Surplus Quilting » that can be perfectly integrated into our fall/winter rotation.

Founded in 2016, the SUBU label is inspired by Japanese culture where sandals are more than just shoes and are an integral part of the clothing tradition. It designs sturdy, all-terrain and waterproof sandals bridging the gap between the softness of summer and the harshness of winter.

With a touch of END. the SUBU Winter Slipper has a chic streetwear look. It’s intended for indoor and outdoor use.

Named « Surplus Quilting » the collaborative mule is strongly inspired by vintage clothing, Japanese style and fashion design. The color palette used for the 3 versions of this shoe corresponds to the shades of classic military fabrics : brown, khaki or orange. As for the composition, the warm and fluffy upper is constructed with onion-stitched nylon to recall the distinctive visual codes of military linings. To complete the look, the eyelets are embroidered, a lace is tied at the instep, SUBU branding is embroidered in tone-on-tone on the side of the foot and the END. branding adorns the insole. The whole is based on a thick and comfortable black sole.

Each pair comes with a co-branded nylon shoe bag, that matches the design of the mule and allowing for convenient and chic carrying.

The END. x SUBU « Surplus Quilting » trio will be released on October 29, 2022 via an open raffle on the UK shop launches.endclothing.com. The price is set at $75 and sizes ranging from US 3.5/4.5 to US 11/12. Don’t sleep !
