The famous END. store regularly presents attractive collaborations. After working with 1017 ALYX 9SM last week, the British shop is teaming up with PUMA to bring its touch to the iconic Clyde OG.
Named « Classic », this collection highlights the importance of classic design and quality craftsmanship. It consists of 3 exclusive versions of the Clyde OG, all dressed in premium materials and with refined details. This collaborative trio is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the model and is limited to 300 pieces worldwide.
Launched in 1973, the Clyde was born out of a sponsorship deal between PUMA and NBA legend Walt « Clyde » Frazier, a first in the history of the American league. With its simple, low-profile design and premium suede construction, the Clyde quickly became popular beyond the basketball court. It went on to become a staple for many subcultures in the years that followed.
END. wanted to celebrate the iconic silhouette and its heritage by focusing on premium materials and craftsmanship.
The partners offer us 3 classic variations : red, navy blue and green. They consist of a velvety suede upper, contrasted by off-white grained leather side stripe. In order to affirm the refined high-end look, the shoes are equipped with some branding details applied with gold leaf, such as ‘END.’ on the heel, PUMA ‘Clyde’ on the panels and numbering on the side heel. As for the tongue branding, it’s tone-on-tone engraved, which gives a luxurious effect, and the co-branding adorns the insole. To finalize the design harmoniously, the other elements appear in off-white color : the inner lining, the laces and the sole.
