The renowned British retailer END. and German giant adidas are once again joining forces to present an exclusive collaboration based on the retro silhouette Forum Low. The pair, named « Friends and Forum », was developed in a spirit of sharing : all profits from sales will be donated to the London-based Greenhouse Sports association.
Greenhouse Sports is a London-based charity founded in 2002 by Michael de Giorgio. The mission is to provide intensive sports training and mentoring to children from disadvantaged communities, helping them develop social, thinking, emotional and physical skills. Greenhouse strives to bridge the gap between children from different social backgrounds and gives everyone a fair chance to succeed.
The adidas Forum silhouette was chosen for its history and heritage in Sneaker culture. Released in 1984, this basketball shoe quickly abandoned its exclusivity on the floor to become an icon of street culture, when it was one of the most expensive sneakers of its time. With this collaboration, adidas pays tribute to the street communities that have popularized the Forum and more generally enriched sneaker culture. adidas is repositioning the cultural weight of the Forum for a new era, by giving the benefits to disadvantaged youth.
The shoe presented today combines performance-oriented design details with cutting-edge design and materials.
It consists of an upper combining premium quality leather and suede in a neutral, white and beige color palette. This ensemble is enhanced by a trio of bright colors : blue, red and green, positioned at the emblematic 3 adidas side stripes. On the middle side, they appear in beige, as do the mudguard and the overlays on the toe and heel. In terms of branding details, the adidas Trefoil logo is engraved on the white leather in the ankle area and the END. brand is embossed on the lower part of the beige suede heel. The names of the two partners each adorn one of the two beige leather tongue labels, and the brandings are coupled on the white insole. We find the X-stay strap above the laces, which provides better support and reduces fatigue, as well as a white leather inner lining. As this pair is limited to 300 pieces, its number is engraved on the back side of the off-white sole.
The END. x adidas Forum Low « Friends and Forum » will be released in a limited edition of 300 pairs on December 31, 2020 via a raffle, which is open for registration since December 28 at launches.endclothing.com. All profits will be donated to the charity Greenhouse Sports. Don’t sleep !
