Back in June, SUPREME and NIKE announced that their next collaboration would be based on the Bakin silhouette. Today, the New York streetwear brand has provided details on a duo colorway and its release date.

The Nike Air Bakin is a little known sneaker nowadays. Released in 1997, it had been noticed on the feet of NBA basketball player Tim Hardaway and had been especially spotted and criticized because of the style of its logo on the heel. The « Air » resembled the Arabic writing of « Allah » and had created controversy.

The retro editions released 10 years later, in 2007, then in 2013 had been modified : the traditional « Nike Air » logo took the place of the controversial « Air ».

James Jebbia and Tremaine Emory offer us a duo of Nike Air Bakin reimagined.

The 1st version has a minimalist white look, while the 2nd is bolder, combining a black base with a yellow/purple/blue gradient and red details.

These shoes are composed of a mesh and synthetic grained leather upper, combined with a nubuck mudguard. In terms of branding details, SUPREME appears on the heel pull, NYC embroidery adorns the heel, a mini-Swoosh is emblazoned on the ankle and the tongue tag features ‘Nike Air’. As always with SUPREME, the co-branded insole is featured in signature red. These pairs also benefit from a removable red co-branded hangtag. The whole is based on a white or black midsole depending on the version, with a visible AIR unit under the heel.

The SUPREME x NIKE Air Bakin duo will be released on March 2, 2023 in stores and online at supreme.com. Do not sleep!
