During the summer, a new collab between the Dutch streetwear pillar PATTA and the American giant NIKE had been teased on social networks (article available HERE). One of these two Air Max 1 reinterpreted, the « Monarch », was seen on the feet of Edson Sabajo at the Sneakerness convention. The other colorway is called « Noise Aqua ».
Announced for Fall 2021, this AM1 duo brings a fresh twist to the original silhouette.
The light grey ballistic mesh base features white leather overlays and a nubuck mudguard, orange or blue depending on the version, with a new wave-shaped cutout. This design appears to be inspired by the 1994 Air Max 2. The iconic side Swoosh, Patta tongue and Nike heel branding, as well as the upper eyelets are color-coordinated with the mudguard to accentuate the look. The shoe features an embroidered white mini Swoosh on the side of the toe area and a yellowed midsole. The whole is based on a cream, black and orange or blue tri-color outsole depending on the iteration. The sneaker will come in a special black box adorned with the contrasting « Love For All » and « Familiar » tags.
To accompany the release of this famous collaborative AM1 duo, PATTA will present a film called « The Wave » directed by Mahaneela and featuring personalities like Mo Farah or Skepta.
The PATTA x Nike Air Max 1 « Monarch » and « Noise Aqua » duo will be released in a few days, probably on October 15, 2021 in stores and online on patta.nl and nike.com, at a price of 160$ per pair. Be ready !
