After having proposed a collaboration with the Californian brand VANS at the beginning of July (article available HERE), the Japanese streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD joins its solid partner ADIDAS. Shinsuke Takizawa and his team bring a new look to the cult silhouette of the German brand, the Superstar 80s.
This shoe is declined in 2 understated and elegant colorways : Black/Cream and Olive Green, and benefits from premium materials.
It consists of a black or olive green suede upper, depending on the iteration, complemented by matching leather elements at the eyelets, heel tab and inner lining. The originality of this collaborative Superstar 80s lies in the reworked tongue area. The co-branded tongue is topped with a removable protector that can also be closed with a zip. This insert blends into the upper with its identical color and material. To add a bold touch, it features white zig-zag stitching. The iconic adidas 3-Stripes are discreetly colored to match the quarter panel, with the NEIGHBORHOOD branding in place of the usual SUPERSTAR name. To affirm the collab, the insole is adorned with a white Trefoil adidas NEIGHBORHOOD monogram. The look of the black pair is finalized with a contrasting cream rubber shell and sole, while these elements are presented in tone on tone for the olive green version.
The Neighborhood x adidas Superstar 80s duo will be released on August 28, 2021, at select retailers and neighborhood.jp, priced at 170$ per colorway.
