Last April, the famous Canadian design studio JJJJOUND teased a very first collab with the Japanese brand ASICS based on the GEL-Kayano 14 silhouette (article available HERE). Today, Justin Saunders brings details on this exclusive model and announces a release date.
ASICS and JJJJOUND share the same passion for research and development. The two brands have a similar approach to design, wanting to develop products that perform, look and feel great.
Together, the partners have redesigned the retro silhouette of the famous GEL-Kayano 14. Available in two simple and elegant colorways « white/silver » and « white/black/silver », it’s made with innovative materials and components, while retaining the design elements characteristic of the model. The pairs consist of a white breathable mesh upper with metallic silver overlays and reflective accents.
On the 1st colorway, the Tigers Stripes and other details, such as the inner lining and tongue branding are dressed in white, while on the 2nd, these elements are presented in black and grey respectively. To affirm the collaboration, these sneakers are adorned with JJJJOUND branding on the heel side overlay and co-branding on the insole. The white/silver iteration features a white performance midsole and an off-white outsole. On the white/silver/black version these elements appear in different hues : vintage cream for the midsole and black for the outsole.
The JJJJound x asics GEL-Kayano 14 duo will be released on August 26, 2022 at 11 AM & 12 PM EST at select retailers and on jjjjound.com. The price is set at $180 per colorway. Be ready !
