Always very active, the British retailer END. unveils a new qualitative and elegant collaboration. After recently offering us a human brain inspired Saucony Azura 2000 (article available HERE), the UK’s END. shop pays tribute to German engineering by teaming up with their long time German partner : adidas. The retro Continental 80 striped silhouette was chosen to create this new « German Engineering » pack.
German engineering is considered the most successful in motorsport. It’s the world’s symbol of exceptional speed and technical ingenuity. The two partners, END. and adidas, were inspired by this emblem of peak performance to design a duo of Continental 80 striped.
These reinterpreted sneakers are inspired by the aesthetic principles of iconic German sports cars reflecting the golden age of the automobile. They are made in Germany according to the principles of high quality and craftsmanship. These Continental 80 striped are also limited and numbered to emphasize the notion of exclusivity, just like the cars they represent.
The first pair is dressed in a retro-refined colorway. It consists of an off-white grained leather upper with a tonal suede overlay on the toe. A nice touch of contrast is provided by the 3 thick dark colored adidas side stripes with a brighter shade outline. To match the look, the laces and sole are presented in off-white.
The second version has a sporty-sleek look. It consists of a full clean white grained leather base. The 3 wide adidas side stripes add color to the pair. They are defined in navy blue, pigeon blue and red, with black outlines. As with the previous version, the laces and sole are in the same color as the upper, here clean white.
Both iterations have specific details in common. The END. and adidas brandings appear on the right and left heel of the shoe respectively, while the British shop name is engraved on the tongue and the usual adidas is found above the side stripes. The notion « Made in Germany » and the numbering of the pair stand out on the heel counter.
The END. x adidas Continental 80 striped MiG « German Engineering » duo will be released on March 27, 2021 via a raffle on launches.endclothing.com for which registrations are now open. Each colorway is limited to 500 pairs, so don’t sleep !
