The Japanese fashion label COMME des GARCONS continues its successful partnership with the American giant Nike. During the Fall/Winter 2020 « Neo Future » fashion show, a revisited white Air Force 1 Mid was unveiled. Today, this new shoe is ready to be marketed, alongside a black version.
This duo of classic and monochrome AF1 colors consists of a premium leather upper with raw overlays, whose contours protrude. These are neither carefully cut nor sewn. This idea of deconstructed design, signature of Rei Kawakubo’s brand, brings both relief and depth to the shoe. The elements thus roughly positioned on the upper seem to float. In addition to the side swoosh, laceguard, mudguard and heel, the ankle strap with CdG branding is also made in the same way. The Nike Air heel logo appears in its traditional form. To finalize the look, the lining, tongue, insole with coupled brandings, and the emblematic sole appear in a color matching the upper.
The Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Force 1 Mid duo will be released on October 23, 2020 in Dove Street Market stores and a little later in the boutiques of both partners. Sizes range from EU 36 to EU 48, for a price of 270€ per pair.
