Two emblematic American brands, Carhartt and Converse, came together to begin 2021 with a collaboration based on a classic and timeless silhouette, the Chuck 70. After proposing an iteration made from pieces of iconic clothing from Carhartt in May 2020 (article available HERE), the two partners return to simplicity with this new duo of Chuck 70.
Returning to the sources and the great classics of Carhartt, this duo of Converse Chuck 70 present in a colorway « Hamilton Brown » and « Covert Green », synonymous with the mythical workwear brand. The brown version appears to be completely faithful to the original design with its plain upper, while the green iteration is adorned with a camouflage finish that is very much in vogue at the moment.
Both sneakers have a canvas base with visible white stitching. To affirm the collaboration, the tongue label is embellished with Carhartt branding and the traditional Converse star circular patch adorns the ankle area. These logos appear in Carhartt’s signature color : aged ochre-brown. A white or cream interior lining, depending on the version, a rubber toe box and matching laces complete the look. The whole is based on the traditional white sole with brown binding for the « Hamilton Brown » pair and black for the « Covert Green » version.
The Carhartt x Converse Chuck 70 duo is scheduled to be released on two different dates on Converse.com and at selected retailers. The « Hamilton Brown » is first released on January 31, 2021 and the « Covert Green » a few days later on February 4, 2021.
