Beauty & Youth, the sub-label of the famous Japanese brand United Arrows, once again partnered with the Boston-based equipment manufacturer New Balance to design a duo of sneakers based on the RC205 vintage silhouette. This marathon running shoe is now offered to us in a more lifestyle approach. This NB RC205 comes in two colorways, one cream/beige and the other off white/brown-honey.
This NB RC205 marathon running shoe, appeared under the name COMP800 in 1996, seems to attract the interest of our Japanese friends. Indeed, in August, the fashion label Beams unveiled a revisited iteration (article available HERE) which will be released the same day as the two collaborative pairs presented today by Beauty & Youth.
In order to bring a lifestyle design to the runner, the mesh usually chosen to shape the vamp has been abandoned in favor of a premium textile material combined with suede and leather. The most understated pair is dressed in cream textile with suede overlays in beige shades. The emblematic tone-on-tone N logo on the side is highlighted by its white contours. To harmonize the design, the inner lining, laces and the ABZORB technology midsole also appear in white. Embroidered branding details in white and blue-grey on the tongue and on the back of the heel add an extra touch of elegance to the pair. To finalize the design, the whole is based on a grey outsole.
The shoe in contrasting colors consists of an off-white textile upper with honey-brown leather overlays on the front of the foot, sides and laceguard, and suede of the same color on the heel. The side N logo appears embroidered with deep red thread, adding cachet to the pair. Branding details are also embroidered in deep red, honey and white on the tongue and gold on the heel. The honey-brown inner lining, white laces with gold aglets complete the neat and elegant look of the pair. The whole is based on an off-white ABZORB midsole and a dark brown outsole.
The Duo Beauty & Youth x New Balance RC205 will be available on September 19, 2020 at store.united-arrow.co.jp . Pre-orders are already possible for a limited quantity. The beige pair is priced around 110€ and the honey-brown sneaker will cost around 125€.
