Almost a year ago, the Japanese fashion house AURALEE unveiled a new collaboration with New Balance during the presentation of its Spring/Summer 2022 collection (article available HERE). At the end of this summer, the Tokyo-based brand finally announces the launch date of this exclusive NB 2002R duo.
The famous running shoe from the 2000’s modernized by New Balance has been reworked by Ryota Iwai in a spirit of simplicity and elegance.
It is available in 2 colorways : white and pale yellow.
The 1st is composed of a beige mesh upper with pale yellow overlays. The look is completed by a matching tongue and laces, as well as a grey 3M reflective heel tab. The 2nd version features a mixed mesh and white suede upper.
The 2 versions have identical suede heel overlays. The higher one appears in off-white, while the lower one is in dark beige that can be confused with cork. These elements add a nice bold touch to the design.
The pairs benefit from an N-ERGY midsole combining cream/pale yellow and dark grey. The look is finalized with a bright yellow outsole for the white iteration and a black outsole for the light yellow version.
