Following the success of their previous collaborations, the retailer DTLR and the equipment manufacturer NEW BALANCE unveil a new exclusive pair. Following the 992 released last September (article available HERE), a 2002R « Masquerade » has been presented.
The name of this new collab plays on duality and refers to a new but very present fact in everyday life : the wearing of masks.
The hyper-popular NB silhouette has an ambivalent look : understated/serious on most of the foot and bold/festive on the rest. It features a combination mesh and suede upper in a matching black hue on the forefoot and multicolored accents on the back. This exclusive colorway is meant to celebrate the hues that pay homage to « ordinary » vs. « extraordinary ». The heel overlay meets the lower part of the side panels and is dressed in grey suede. On the back of the foot, we discover a festive color combination of red, green, yellow, blue and purple. Small colored touches also stand out on the black tongue. The side N logo appears in black and the pair has some reflective details. To finalize the look, the whole is based on a white Nergy midsole, with a red part at the heel, associated with a black/green/purple tri-colored outsole.
The DTLR x New Balance 2002R « Masquerade » will be released on February 11, 2022 at 10h00 HNE exclusively in store and on dtlr.com, for a price of 155$. Good luck !
