Famous rapper DRAKE is a close friend of American sportswear giant NIKE. He even launched his sub-label named NOCTA in late 2020 and in spring 2021, he unveiled some colorways of the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra silhouette (articles available on this site). As the release of his new album « Certified Lover Boy » approaches, a Air Force 1 Low has surfaced on social media.
Although the exact release date of Champagne Papi’s next LP has yet to be officially announced, it’s rumored that it will arrive before the end of this summer. The AF1 unveiled today should be available at the same time.
This commemorative pair seems, at first glance, quite classic with its legendary « Triple White » colorway. It’s constructed entirely of tumbled leather and features white laces and sole. With this pair, it’s all about the detail. Notice that the iconic tonal embossed « AIR » on the side of the midsole is replaced with a refined cursive script « Love you forever ». The latter appears as a nod to the theme of the upcoming album. To complete the « Certified Lover Boy » design, the traditional stars adorning the front and back of the sole have been reinterpreted in the shape of hearts.
The Drake x Nike Air Force 1 « Certified Lover Boy » is expected to be launched around the time of the album’s release, certainly in August 2021. For now, Drake and Nike have not confirmed, but stay tuned to not miss anything !
