ADIDAS Originals continues to provide us with rich and varied collaborations. After recently working with the toy brand LEGO, the famous streetwear label BAPE or the soccer legend David Beckham (articles available on this site), the German giant has teamed up with the Korean rap and R&B group DPR Crew (Dream Perfect Regime Crew) to design the daring « SYNC Pack ».
This collaborative capsule consists of a Thesia « The Shea » silhouette in 2 colorways and an assortment of sportswear.
The adidas Thesia has a retro design inspired by the running models of the 2000’s, but with futuristic details. Combining fashion and performance, the shoe consists of a mesh, canvas and synthetic upper, complemented by translucent side panels featuring the iconic two-tone adidas 3-Stripes. The design is completed with metallic silver eyelets and the DPR monogram on the heel tab. The adidas branding is subtly applied to the tongue and insole. We find the iconic thick EVA midsole with a « tunnel » under the heel. The whole is based on a semi-translucent rubber outsole tinted with the colors of the upper.
Both versions of this sneaker pay homage to the DPR Crew’s journey.
The « Hanok » (the name of traditional Korean houses) symbolizes the past by referring to the video recording location of the song « Yeung Freestyle » that brought this music group to the attention of the public. It’s dressed in red, yellow, beige and navy blue, referring to the wood of the hanok and the danceong (the decorative coloring on the wood).
The « Space » symbolizes the future by taking up the theme that has influenced the recently released works. It’s adorned with blue and purple, representing the universe and its luminous shades of color, as well as reflective details on the tongue that finalize the tribute to the Milky Way.
To top it all off, these sneakers come in an original box, made from a special material that detects temperature and changes color. The initial black revealing a blue color and the legendary adidas 3 stripes logo.
The pack is completed with a set of tracksuit and a short-sleeved t-shirt matching each version of the sneaker, one blue and the other beige. These pieces feature traditional adidas logos and Dream Perfect Regime branding.
The DPR x adidas Original Thesia « SYNC PACK » will be released on April 30, 2021 as a limited edition on thewww.dreamperfectregime.com/shop . The price of the sneaker is priced at around 120$ per colorway.
