The Chinese sneaker boutique based in Shanghai DOE has partnered for the first time with the famous Japanese brand MIZUNO. For this inaugural collaboration with a Chinese brand, the popular Wave Rider 10 silhouette was revisited to pay homage to a core sport of the Mizuno equipment manufacturer, baseball.
The DOE shop is a member of Mizuno’s « KAZOKU » project, which brings together longstanding, high-level partners from around the world who can be considered part of the Mizuno Sportstyle family. These brands all have common values. They are interested in projects designed with premium materials, in a spirit of craftsmanship and innovation.
This sneaker is inspired by the baseball and is more particularly adorned with the typical white leather ball design. It therefore consists of a white leather upper with tone-on-tone overlays on the forefoot and heel. On the sides of the shoe, we discover a brown stripe reminiscent of the color of the baseball glove and the floor of the playgrounds. Visible red stitching, joining this stripe to the vamp, appears as a nod to the method of making balls. Red accents such as the heel strap or the logo on the back of the shoe complete the design. For an additional touch of elegance, the impressive DOE brand is subtly distinguished underneath the side RunBird in the same color. A white tongue with a tone-on-tone label and matching lining and laces complete the neat look of the pair. The whole is based on a white high performance sole with a thin red stripe under the heel.
The DOE x Mizuno Wave Rider 10 will be available on October 31, 2020 in DOE stores, on the Mizuno website and at selected retailers for 150€. The pair will be delivered in a special large storage box, designed exclusively for this project, made of solid white material with a discreet red logo. Be ready !
