In their faithful « Only Good Vibes » spirit, Edson Sabajo and Guillaume « Gee » Schmidt regularly present innovative and committed collections, successful collabs and develop various projects such as the « Patta Academy » which helps young designers to blossom in their passion, or even a running club and a sound system.
In order to retrace the path of the cult Dutch brand, Goodville production followed the PATTA team for 5 years. The workings of this success story are highlighted through the documentary « Patta for Life ».
This film tells the story of a small Amsterdam store that became a big streetwear brand, known and respected worldwide. But Patta is more than that, it’s a lifestyle!
Passionate about hip-hop and sneakers, friends Edson Sabajo and Guillaume Schmidt decided to open a shop about twenty years ago. A modest store on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, selling exclusive models bought in New York and shipped to Amsterdam. Edson explains : « We wanted to be the best sneaker store in the world, and that when people think of Amsterdam, they think of sneakers, lifestyle, culture and us. » The ambition of the two partners was great and they gave themselves the means to achieve it, despite the setbacks and problems encountered. Gee says several times in the documentary « The struggle is real ».
In addition to limited sneakers, Patta has gone on to partner with cult brands to bring us collabs that sell out quickly and designs eye-catching streetwear and accessories under its own label. Patta has opened flagships in London and Milan and is also distributed throughout Europe by partner retailers. It can also be found in concept stores in Tokyo, Seoul and New York.
