Documentary “Clarks and New York: Soles of The City”

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]CLARKS, the British footwear brand, has just released a short documentary called « Clarks and New York : Soles of The City » paying tribute to its flagship silhouette : the Wallabee.

Directed by the legendary Set Free Richardson, directed by the Clarks Originals team and narrated by the rapper Jadakiss, this documentary relates the impact of the WALLABEE in the streets of New York and then in the street culture in general through several testimonies.

Hip-hop icons, fashion designers, streetwear brand founders and street artists tell their personal story with the Wallabee.

For example, the shoe is described as a « trophy » by Jadakiss, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan recall that it was brought to the streets of New York by the Jamaican community, graffiti artist Futura explains that he has customized his pairs, and Kith’s designer-founder Ronnie Fieg explains that he has reinterpreted the shoe while maintaining its unique DNA.

Other major personalities of the streetwear/street art scene, such as April Walker, Dave East, Styles P, Bahr Brown, Danie Sierra, John Seymour participate in this short film and share their experiences with the famous and indestructible Wallabee.

The documentary « Clarks and New York : Soles of The City » lasts just over 13 minutes.
