The iconic American brand DICKIES is getting up to date with collabs with popular brands and eye-catching collections (several articles available on this site). The latest opus : a collection called « Heritage Canvas » paying tribute to the roots of the label created 100 years ago.
Dickies is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It was in 1922 that this American brand founded in Texas arrived on the workwear market. It first supplied uniforms to the army before dressing workers and civilians. Known for its quality products, the workwear label seduced another type of consumer during the 1980s and 1990s : skateboarders and was worn on the street, thus enriching street culture. For 100 years, Dickies has managed to keep its workwear authenticity while becoming an iconic streetwear brand that sometimes invites itself into the fashion world.
The Heritage Canvas collection celebrates DICKIES’ century of success with a selection of work-inspired apparel for men and women.
It includes pieces designed in the pure workwear tradition that appear as a cohesive uniform-like ensemble. These include Chore jackets, bib overalls, carpenter pants, and shorts made from cotton canvas, the brand’s signature durable and timeless fabric used for its versatile qualities. The fabric has been softened through a stonewashing process that provides softness while maintaining strength.
In addition to the traditional brown and black duck green colorways, DICKIES offers these pieces in new lighter and trendier shades : porcelain blue, withered rose and cloud white.
