Dutch eco-brand DFNS continues to make headway in the world of sneakers and sports by announcing a new partnership. In addition to working in conjunction with Nike Grind (article available HERE), the shoe cleaning and care label has joined the list of partners of the English soccer club FOREST GREEN ROVERS.

Founded in 1889, FOREST GREEN ROVERS is the current champion club of the 2nd English division.

The team has made amazing progress in less than 5 years, moving from the National League to League 1 and being crowned League 2 champions on the final day of last season.

In addition to shining on the field, FOREST GREEN ROVERS have won other awards related to their pioneering approach to sustainability, such as the Green Heart Hero Sustainability in Spot Award. The club’s motto is « Another Way » : sustainability is at the heart of decisions and expectations, such as solar panels, electric car charging stations and veggie menus at the stadium.

Arthur van der Kroft, CEO of DFNS, said : « We are very pleased to partner with Forest Green Rovers Football Club, whose progress on and off the pitch in recent years has been nothing short of immense. We strongly believe in the power of sport to inspire sustainable habits, and the club’s efforts to ensure planet-friendly practices at all levels, while being crowned League 2 champions and gaining promotion, is a shining example. » He Added : « This is an invaluable opportunity to work with a like-minded institution on the path to spreading the benefits of product care, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of our products at the highest level. »

DFNS becomes the outdoor grandstand partner for Forest Green Rovers’ The Bolt New Lawn stadium. Now called the « DFNS Stand », the Dutch brand is proudly displayed there ahead of the club’s first season in League One. DFNS will provide its environmentally friendly and sustainable products to all players, the Academy, the community, as well as home and away fans.

In conclusion Henry Staelens, CEO of FOREST GREEN ROVERS said : « We are pushing the boundaries here at FGR, to show what can be done in sustainability if people think differently – and the same goes for our new partners, DFNS. They’re breaking new ground with their planet-friendly solutions for cleat cleaning and I’m sure our fans will love it. »

We look forward to the resumption of the English Football Championship on August 6, 2022! Now it’s down to FIFA’s « greenest club in the world », FOREST GREEN ROVERS and their new green partner DFNS.
